The concert will bring together established international names, such as Ukrainian pianist Lubomyr Melnyck, who recently performed his “continuous music” concept at a sold-out show at the Barbican in London, with unique local musicians including Syrian ambient musician Obay Alsharani, whose debut album inspired by the Arctic landscape was described by the Guardian as “stunning”. New-York based artist Ana Roxanne will bring her exquisite ambient songcraft embodying the radiance of R&B vocalists, the immaculateness of church hymns, and the soul-stirring power of devotional music. Hailing from Istanbul, Berlin-based electronic musician Hüma Utku will perform a drone set exploring the possibilities of how sound textures and rhythm can be used to evoke a sense of the ancient within electronic music.
Linnéa Talp will perform her minimalistic yet rich sonic weaves on electric organ with additional elements of cittra and voice. Gothenburg-based free improvisational Trio Ramberget will explore the ambient landscape with prominent use of acoustic instruments. Composer and sound artist Kajsa Lindgren will create an immersive musical experience through different sound sources and expressions. The event will also feature choral group Lumen Voices, headed by Katarina Henryson, and the trio Art of Union, offering a therapeutic sound experience using gongs and singing bowls.
